The Mute Voice

If our voice
makes a little less blood spill
strikes fear in someones' hearts
creates a new law
makes people think....
Then its time,
to prove we aren't mute
to sing a song
to make some noise
to join the prayer.
Its time to break our silence
our long dark silence.
And show the gratitude in words.

Let our words echo
There where no bells of joy ring
no sounds of giggles and no birds sing;
Where the wait is long and unsure...
Let our voice give them hope
To wait a few moments longer
To wait for us.
we will come.
Let our voices sing
of hope & peace & love
of fire & sunrise & full stomachs.

Now lets raise our voices a little more
And find the power in our throat -
' Neelkanth. '
if our voice can wipe someone's tear
and show them a way
Then let us be the anklet of a distant morning.

If our voices can
Then we should
Break the silence
This millennia old deep, dark silence .

According to the mythological stories, Lord Shiva drank the poison that appeared from the 'Sagar Manthan' (churning of ocean). This place is said to have been the same place, where Lord Shiva drank the poison. On drinking the poison, his throat turned blue and from that time onwards, Lord Shiva came to be known as 'Neelkantha' (One having blue throat  ) - chttp://www.culturalindia.net/indian-temples/neelkanth-mahadev-haridwar.html
